#1. Chateau Meichtry Family Vineyard and Winery
Location: 1862 Orchard Ln, Talking Rock, GA 30175
Breathtaking views, delicious wine, and live music on the weekends – this winery has a lot to offer. It is family owned and run by the daughter and granddaughter of the man who founded it, Stephen Meichtry.
Tucked in the North Georgia Mountains, guests feel at peace here, isolated from the stress of the city, surrounded by rolling hills and fields dotted in cattle. They host weddings and events, as well.
Cyzer – their off-dry apple honey blend is absolutely worth trying! Each tour is $35 per person and takes around an hour and a half to complete. Tours are held on Saturday and Sunday; they start at 12:30. You’ll get to taste 5 unique wines made on the property. Take a full glass of your favorite on the walking tour. Each tour comes with a complimentary Riedel glass to take home.
#2. Tiger Mountain Vineyards
Location: 2592 Old 441 S, Tiger, GA 30576
Welcome to a beautiful winery with 10 acres of vines that were planted between 1995 and 1996 on the Ezzard family’s farm, which has been in their family for five generations. Tucked away against the rolling hills of Tiger Mountain, each vine is hand-picked and expertly tended to.
Hence, why the wines served up here have won several awards including the 2015 Touriga, which took him gold at the International Eastern Wine Competition. The TMV 2016 Cabernet Franc took home double gold in the 2018 Jefferson Cup.
The tasting room is open Thursday through Sunday from 1pm to 5pm, and on Saturday they open at 11 am. You can make an appointment by phone for tastings on other days of the week.
The Red Barn Café serves up lunch on certain dates and special occasions, including Easter Sunday.
#3. Cavender Creek Vineyards
Location: 3610 Cavender Creek Rd, Dahlonega, GA 30533
This beautiful winery was established in 2006 by retired school teachers Raymond and Donna Castleberry. In 2015, it was purchased by Claire Livingston who strives to maintain the winery’s rustic roots while adding modern touches. Since day one, the goal has been to produce delicious wines to enjoy with friends, and that’s what they continue to do today.
This is a smaller winery, which allows for greater attention to detail. Vineyard vines include Norton, Petit Manseng, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
One of the most charming aspects of this winery is the cabin from the 1920s that sits at the heart of it in all its rustic glory. You can rent the cabin for a weekend getaway. Meant to feel like a working farm, there are friendly donkeys and other animals roaming the farm just waiting for a pet.

#4. The Cottage Vineyard and Winery
Location: 5050 US-129, Cleveland, GA 30528
Yet another NE Georgia winery that maintains outstanding reviews, The Cottage Vineyard & Winery sits on a beautiful piece of property that stretches for 29 acres. This winery is a popular place to enjoy an afternoon, after all, it was voted as one of the Top 25 USA Wineries and has been featured in a variety of magazines.
Since the winery began, they have produced over 800 barrels of wine and poured over 360,000 glasses. This one happy family produces 20 unique wines to enjoy. Tastings start at just $10 per person.
